| Nov 17 Written by:aajoanne Monday, November 17, 2008 Thanks to member Labdp for her contributions to our blog! What do you get then you have three days of rain and four dogs? A whole lot of pent up energy and 16 paws trying to burn it off. And you know that place in the yard where the drainage is bad and this summer was the year it would get fixed?? Well, it didn't get fixed. There is still a mud puddle right before the porch.
Not to mention the standing water in the yard in the low spots. Wow, it's fun the see the water splash as the dogs plough through the puddles, to hear the thunder of their paws. Not so much fun when they come in with belly's and legs splashed with mud.
I shouldn't complain -it's a treat to send them out to run, sniff, investigate the yard and all it's smells. They need to exercise and burn off that energy. We're lucky we can just send them out in the yard. And I know, some folks would wipe each and every paw as it comes back inside. Oh to be so efficient. Oh, to have so much time. Oh forget it - it ain't gonna happen.
I do have a housekeeper who comes twice a month to do the floors and bathrooms. All I can say is boy, she's gonna hate us next week. I'll be sure to tell the dogs to look particularly adorable when she comes. Maybe she will forgive them for their paw prints of indiscretion all over the floor. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow and dry things up a little.
I sure hope so.

Re: Three Days of Rain
your pet is adorable -- if your housekeeper has a soft spot -- let's hope she gets taken in by their cuteness -- i know i would let them get away with stuff like that -- their comfort and happiness is worth the cleaning up -- when you have pets, things like this is a regular occurrence -- dirt and messiness are part of the fabric of life -- what joy to see them healthy and running about -- this is what's important.

Aw, your doggie is cute. I know if I was your housekeeper there would be nothing to forgive because dogs will be dogs. I just love that picture. I just love dogs so much that they couldn't make me mad at them not even when they eat my decorations, like my boyfriends dog is famous for.

My Yoshi loves water and puddles too! He steps in one whenever he has the chance. Ziggy on the other hand hates to get his feet wet. :-)

Re: Three Days of Rain
My Boston Terrier, Bella, couldn't care any less if her paws get wet. She happily walks through any puddle without a worry in the world! Bonita, a pug, on the other hand, hates getting her paws wet. Even when we take them out for a quick relief, if the grass is wet, she looks at you as saying "do I really have to?" and when you tell her "yes, you do", she steps on the wet grass as if she was stepping on fire, one paw at the time... it's hilarious to watch, even more so when you look at Bella and she is joyfully running back and forth on the wet grass. I often wonder if they could what wouldBella tell Bonita, "oh come on, don't be a sissy and join the fun!" ;)
