Im also looking for other users of the Littermaid electic litterbox.M roommate bought one for the house as we live in a 5 cat household, 3 adults and 2 kittens. I would change the non electric litterbox every other day. The smell was still bad.

Just wondering what you like or dislike about the littermaid

Hi! I had the origianl model and liked it but, there's still work involved. You need to be careful when you remove the plastic container from the unit so that when it pops out ,the dirty litter doesn't fly up into your face! Oh, yeah-I did that! Then you need to remove the top part of the unit to clean out the tray every so often. It definitely had it's pluses, though. Then I bought the newer super model. It may be the way I set it up,I don't know, but when the rake returns,it takes the 'poop' with it and I have to try to get it off the rake. This new one isn't making me as happy as the older model did. I've gone back to three litter boxes for my 2 cats.I just started using a litter that's new to me. It's called "Premium Choice All Natural Unscented super clumping! I hope it's not lethal or anything 'cause ILOVE IT and it's not as expensive as the others. Everything in their litter boxes forms a solid clump, making it very easy to scoop w/almost no mess. And my cats seem to really like it too.

I have a Scoop Free box, and I love it... http://www.scoopfree.com/ I haven't had any odors issues with it, but then again, I only have one cat.

I heard bad things about the LitterMaid motors burning out, so I was scared to try them. I'll be interested to see what your experience is with it!
