Stinky

I bought the little dwarf rabbit in Aug. of 2000. Not ever having a rabbit I didn't even know what to expect. I kept him in the house in a cage due to the fact I had cats and I didn't want him to be their next meal. The cats were very curious and so was Stinky. For short periods of time I would take him out and have supervised play time with the cats. I guess it worked, because I think Stinky rabbit thought he was a cat -- and the cats didn't seem to mind. Eventually they all became really good friends and I had hours of enjoyment watching them play tag. I lost Stinky to a long battle of ear/eye infection on Monday morning July 28th, 2008. I will miss you little fellow. |

I'm so sorry for the loss of your pet rabbit. Its always so hard to loose a pet, they are such a part of the family. Thats amazing how well your cats got a long with him, I've never heard of that. Hopefully it can give you some comfort in thinking that Stinky is probably hopping around in animal heaven with his bunny friends;-)

I too have cats along with two rabbits, two Shelties, 7 turtles, 12 parakeets, and 1 cockatiel. It's all one big happy family. My two bunnies will turn 5 next Spring but I have one cat, Cinnamon, who likes to jump into their cages and take naps with them. One bunny welcomes it, the other one, well it took time for it to allow the cat to sit in its cage. That rabbit would at first lunge at the cat with it's teeth showing, sending the cat out of its cage. Rabbits are really sweet creatures and I didn't realize just how nice they were until I owned them. So I can only imagine the grief you are going through with the loss of yours. If you are willing, there are many rabbits up for adoption. Many people don't have the patience to take care of them. But since you had yours for so many years, maybe nows the time to take in one that doesn't have a home and give it the love it deserves. Just a thought. |
