| Chaser |
Chaser was a kitten found hanging around my Mom's apartment. The vet help determine his age to be about 10 weeks.
|
| Annie |
My beloved Annie was with me only 6 short years. She was a shelter cat and I think she had been abandoned by a previous owner.
|
| Sammy |
I found Samantha (Sammy) at the ASPCA in New York City eight years ago and she's been my sweet little girl for the last nine years.
|
| Sky |
Our girl Sky (Skymningen's Soraya) was taken from us at the age of 3 1/2.
|
| Fred |
Fred was a great dog and loved by all who knew him. He never met a stranger and was friendly to all he met. He was a gentle and kind dog and was the largest pup of his litter. |
| Rocky |
Rocky was a true lady. She was 13 and she lost use of her back legs and started getting sores on them. She was paralyzed and she grew weaker and could no longer get around by herself. She lost massive amounts of weight and we decided to have her put to sleep. |
| Decoi |
My Decoi had to be put down on Friday afternoon, 7/25, after only a short 2 week bout with throat cancer. How do dogs get cancer of the throat, it makes you really wonder what the heck is going on these days Decoi was 11 years old.
|
| K.C. |
My beloved canine friend, K.C., died on May 9th, 2008, in a fatal accident. K.C. had a wonderful, funny personality – so animated - that I have not seen in any other Keeshond. He was extremely affectionate, loyal, happy and gentle. K.C. was also a very good big brother figure to little Myszka, who misses him in a big way too. |
| Sammi |
My dear sweet Sammi was only four months old when we got her. She was a wonderful, shy Blue Tick hound puppy and though we only had her for 1 1/2 months she brought our family sooooo much joy and love.
|
| Stinky |
I bought the little dwarf rabbit in Aug. of 2000. Not ever having a rabbit I didn't even know what to expect. I kept him in the house in a cage due to the fact I had cats and I didn't want him to be their next meal.
|
| Petey |
Pete came into my life in the spring of 1989, and for 15 years he was my baby boy up until the end. You see, he had cancer and was in a lot of pain.
|
| Pongo |
This is Pongo James Tackett. He was born in the summer of 1990 and we lost him February 28, 2008. His kidneys had pretty much failed. He had arthritis, a hard time walking and getting around. He threw up undigested food. His hearing was practically gone, and in a mere two weeks he had lost an awful lot of weight, so we're pretty sure he had cancer.
|
| Patton |
Patton, a beautiful Rottweiler, was found almost dead on the side of the road by a man who is a foster father to many abandoned and abused animals in Jasper, Arkansas. At first he looked at Jeff (the man who stopped to pick him up) as though he wanted to die, but then he started fighting for his life.
|
| Duke |
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved companion and family member, Duke.
Duke was born in January 1994 in Summit County, Utah and passed away peacefully on June 24, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Duke was five months old when he came to our family from a shopping cart at PetSmart. It was love at first sight.
|
| Buddy |
Buddy took the journey to Rainbow Bridge about a month ago when he suffered a massive heart attack. He'd been happy, playful and active up to that point, and for that I'm grateful.
|
| Missy, Spooky and Princess |
We lost three kitties this year. Missy had a tumor deep in her intestines. We did not know about it. I always check for lumps. This was so deep I never found it. She was acting very oddly one day. I took her to the vet. She died in my arms in the exam room before the vet could look at her. The vet checked her over after the fact. |

| Mugsey |
On June 24, 2008, Mugsey crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Mugsey had kidney failure, and really only the last month was bad for him, and he only suffered really the last day. |
| Joe, From Slaughterhouse to Celebrity |
Joe was a good example of what can happen when a person rescues a horse who is on his way to the slaughterhouse. He was a weanling when he went to the slaughterhouse the first time. A kindly horse rescuer must have seen some promise in the loudly coloured youngster and bought him. Later, she sold him to a man who had never owned a horse before. This man asked me to train his horse. |
| Hemi |
Hemi has new Angel wings; our dear Hemi crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night. The pain of missing her on Earth is soothed by the knowledge that Angel Kitties Tipper and Little Bit are showing her the best "sun puddles" in Cat Heaven right this moment.

| Roxy |
From The Adventures of Squirrel blog:
Roxy's gone. She's really gone. Yesterday she still wasn't feeling well at all so I took her to our conventional vet. Her bloodwork was pretty off so they referred us to a vet hospital in Aurora.
Rox and I started the drive up there and I really thought that they would just keep her overnight or so. As I pulled in the parked the car, I turned turned around to tell her that we were at the hospital and they were going to take good care of her. Then she collapsed to the side. I grabbed her and we hurried inside. |
| Laska |
Our Laska...she found me! She was a stray and came to the post office that I was working at; everyone else was afraid of her but I took my time and after awhile I gained enough trust that she came to me. |
| Laddie |
We lost our Laddie several years ago at the age of 13 but still miss him terribly! We had him from a puppy and he gave us many laughs and so much love! |
| Woody |
Woody died on May 4th 2008; he was killed by a deer. We went to work at a veterinary hospital every day for last 10 years. He stayed at the front desk to meet and greet the clients and their pets. Everybody in town knew and loved him. He is very much missed and will hold a special place in my heart forever! |
| Our Guy Gizmo |
My Guy Gizmo was born June 6th of 1994 and went to his rest June 7th, 2008, at 98 years (human years). He was named “My Guy Gizmo” – a companion for “My Gal Gidget”, little knowing that at 11 months -- six days before neutering -- they would become mates creating three lovable little “Shih-Pekes.”
|
| Maui |
Beautiful tiny girl tabby cat; a gift from a friend in August 1988, when I was living in Honolulu. She was psychic, I am sure. .
She traveled along with us when we moved to Oregon in 1990, and then when I had had enough of rain, she rode down to San Diego with me in my VW Bus for the winter of 1997. |
| Missy |
I was abandoned at a truck stop in Eloy, AZ, in the summertime. I was lucky my new dad came by in a truck and let me jump in. We spent 15 years together. I was loved, cared for and spoiled. My dad got sick a few weeks ago and I had to go live with my mom for a while. During this time I got very sick also and it was time to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Even though I didn't get to say good-bye to my dad, my mom was with me every moment.
|
| Heidi |

I adopted Heidi, a beautiful German shepherd from Best Friends on June 3, 2001. She never experienced water to walk in or grass to walk on. She had been chained to a truck for years before Best Friends found her. |
| Gizmo |

My dog-child, Gizmo, passed away on Feb. 8th, 2008. She was hit by a car and fortunately, died instantly. I was at my mom’s in Louisville and my sister came and told me about it. I just about lost it, Gizmo was my baby, my sweet little doggie, and I loved her like a child. I still miss her so much and cry often. |
| Sassie & Beau |

Sassie was diagnosed with bone cancer almost 7 months ago. She got off the couch one night and she was limping. I took her into the vet and they found a tumor on her left shoulder the size of a baseball. At that time, the Vet said that she would not live longer than 30 days. |
| Andre Anthony |
He was my hero. He was found as a stray on the streets of Newark, NJ , weighing 85lbs. He was by my side 24/7. I always knew I was loved and he always knew that he was loved too. He passed away two weeks ago. "If I could follow the path to heaven, I would bring him home again" |
| Jessey |
Jessey never realized that she was a big dog, she loved to cuddle on my lap. She was just one month short of 13th birthday when she passed on. We lost her because of stomach bloat six months after she had surgery for it the first time. This picture was taken the day before she took her walk across the rainbow bridge. She will live on forever in our hearts!
|
| Muffin |
On January 3, 2003, I had to say goodbye to Muffin, she was 14 years old and not blind nor deaf. I found her at a Dr X pet store when I was 16 and fell in love with her. Even though it has been five years and I have two beautiful Poodles and a wonderful Rotti, she is not forgotten.
|
| Willie & Fuzzball |
Both Willie (puppy) and Fuzzball (cat) have passed away. Willie was my mom’s dog who died of liver problems in February 2007. He was my mother’s pride and joy, very devoted to her. |
| Lucy |
Our little Lucy was obtained through the Humane Society, She was such a frightened, abused little girl when we got her in May 2001.
She was such a pretty little girl and once she realized that we loved her she became quite the little princess. |
| Bear |
This is Bear. His pregnant mom showed up on our doorstep in 1989 and gave us Bear. The rest of his brothers and sisters, as well as his mom, were given to friends after they were all big enough.
|
| Ceasar |
Caesar was the best dog that I have ever known. He came to live with us when he was 14 years old. He was a purebred Rottweiler, and was very intelligent. He had arthritis and was going deaf/blind, but he was a very happy dog right up to the end.
|
| Shasta |
My beautiful Shasta, a 13 year old ruddy Abyssinian, went over the bridge this evening. He was diagnosed with lymphoma earlier this year. He was a very brave boy, but he let me know this morning that it was time for him to go.
|
| JaJa |
Two years ago in February, my birthday had just passed early in the month, I lost my beautiful dog. Her name was and is "Jaja", and I loved her as she loved me. She was a combination of her mother's head, a Lhaso Apso, and her dad's body, a Chinese crested. To me, she was unique. |
| Clancy & Finnegan |
Last month my sister Robin lost her beautiful Lab Clancy at 15yrs. after suffering from a stroke. Clancey was an amazing dog having survived cancer three times in her lifetime. She was a gift and a miracle to everyone who new her.
|
| Dylan |
I would like to remember my very best fur friend Dylan. I have wanted to care for an Irish wolfhound my whole life. I was blessed to be able to do so with Dylan. He was truly a most wonderful hound. |
| Bartman |
I got Bartman was he was only 5 weeks old and not quite weaned. We weaned him on tuna and milk. He was so tiny whenever he tried to walk his little legs would “splat” out from up under him.
|
| Scooby |
Scooby passed away on Feb 6, 2008 in his sleep; he was 17 years old. He had a heart problem for which he was being treated for with medication for the past 8 months.
|
| Tazmo |
On February 10th, we lost the most incredible dog I have ever met. Tazmo came to me when he was 16 years old and not in very good condition. I honestly thought that we were going to be more of a hospice to him, giving him a home with no abuse, healthy food and lots of love. I knew that if his previous mom had taken him to the shelter, he would have been put down. |
| Taz |
This is Taz. My partner and I got a phone call at about 2 am back in 1987 from a friend who works for a local animal shelter. She said "I know you guys haven't been looking for a dog but you have to come down and see this dog". |
| Mumford |
Eleven years ago, on the day before Thanksgiving, I was adopted by a grey and white Maine Coon, the most bedraggled, skin and bones cat I've ever seen. He had been rescued from a forest preserve on Long Island where he had been dumped by a family that did not want him. He had never learned to hunt and he was next to death by starvation when they found him. I brought him home and named him Mumford. |
| Nonna |
On August 14, 2007 I lost my best friend! Nonna was her name and she was the prettiest yellow lab I have ever seen. She came in to my life when I lost my grandma and brought me so much joy.
|
| Sammy Jo and Chauncey |
These two babies were taken from me March 12, 2008 when they were attacked by a big dog. I threw myself onto the large dog and pulled him backwards on me. Then my little dog Liddy jumped in to help me.
|
| Baxter |
Baxter was not just a horse, he was my best friend, my crying towel, my soul mate. I had to let him go at 31 years old and I miss him everyday.
I knew what he was thinking before even he did and I trusted his every move because I knew he would always take care of me. |
| Jasper |
I lost my Jasper in January, 2008. He was a very lovable cat and I miss him very much.
My husband buried Jasper in the flower garden we have in honor of my dad. We will always love and miss him dearly. |
